XYZ Knitters have been making baby caps for newborn babies born in local hospitals since the 1980s. When Cathie Price, who leads the group, joined in 1988, she started tracking the number of hats the group made. As of May 2022, they have knitted or crocheted over 72,965 hats! The hats have been donated to various hospitals throughout the years, and are currently given to MedStar Franklin Square and St. Joseph Medical Centers.
New knitters and crocheters are always welcome to join the group, which meets every other Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the church parlor (https://epworthchurch.org/calendar). Please contact the office for hat instructions if you prefer to knit on your own time and still want to contribute.
Yarn donations are welcome. Please choose 4-ply acrylic yarn and drop off anytime during office hours, M-F, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
